The Second Conference of Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia was held at Qingdao Cosmopolitan Exposition, West Coast New Area, Qingdao, Shandong Province from June 1 to 4, 2021. The conference continued the theme of “Health Beyond Health, Sustainable Development in 2030” and the slogan of “Health for All”, exploring the topic of health for mankind.

The conference was characterized by high-level participants, extensive attention, heavy tasks and a large size. Shandong Company was responsible for the management of the entire conference, including “one opening ceremony”, “2 plenary meetings”, “33 sub-forums”, “one entrepreneur symposium”, “2 welcome dinners”, a number of important meetings as well as the creation of atmosphere at the conference center. It covers one main venue, 9 branch venues, one news center, one TCM experience hall, 13 VIP lounges and other key areas. 

Li Bin, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. The conference was presided over by Margaret Chan, Chairperson of the Conference. Li Baodong, Secretary-General of the Forum, and Liu Jiayi, Secretary of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, delivered welcome speeches on behalf of the sponsors. Ban Ki-moon, Chairman of the Forum; Sirindhorn, a princess of the Kingdom of Thailand; Zhou Xiaochuan, Vice Chairman of the Forum; Yasuo Fukuda, President of the Advisory Committee of the Forum and former Prime Minister of Japan; Jennifer Shipley, a trustee of the Forum and former Prime Minister of New Zealand; and Tedros Adhanom, Director General of the World Health Organization, delivered speeches respectively.

Over 1,000 delegates from governments, international organizations, business, academic and media circles attended the opening ceremony.

This conference achieved ample practical results. 2,880 delegates and 280 journalists attended the meeting offline; more than 40 Chinese and foreign government dignitaries, ministers and heads of international organizations, and more than 400 Chinese and foreign speakers participated in the discussions. Over 176 companies participated in the World Health Expo held simultaneously, which received more than 40,000 visitors. The conference promoted 22 cooperation projects, with an investment of 17.165 billion yuan.

Staff of three HIMICE companies contributed to Qingdao event

HIMICE’s Yunnan Company, Guizhou Company and Sichuan Company sent capable staff to provide support the conference. They undertook the management and coordination of 8 sub-venues. Thirty-three sub-forums were held simultaneously. They worked with Shandong company staff to pull off the tasks, and were highly recognized and praised by the organizing committee of the conference.

More than 30 HIMICE staff completed the preparation, on-site implementation and service guarantee for the conference by virtue of their attention to detail, professionalism and responsibility. They also showed the spirit of HIMICE throughout the whole process.
